David Moyes has been sounded out for a potential return to Celtic after turning West Ham United into one of the Premier League’s most consistent sides this season, as reported by TEAMtalk.
How times change.
When the Scot returned for a second spell in charge at the London Stadium in December 2019, it is fair to say his appointment was greeted by a rather muted response from the Hammers fanbase.
15 months later, Moyes has thrived where the much-vaunted Manuel Pellegrini failed, turning one of English football’s perennial underachievers into a club with genuine European ambitions.
Even with Chelsea back in form, there is still a chance that West Ham will be playing Champions League football for the first time in 2021/22.
Moyes’ contract is due to expire at the end of the season and, in stark contrast to December 2019, you would struggle to find a West Ham supporter questioning the wisdom of handing him a contract this time around.
TEAMtalk claims that talks are ongoing.

West Ham are determined to tie down the former Everton and Manchester United boss as soon as possible, aware of growing interest from elsewhere in the 57-year-old.
Unsurprisingly, the Glasgow-born tactician has admirers north of the border. Intermediaries have allegedly reached out to enquire about whether Moyes would be interested in replacing Neil Lennon at Celtic, the club where he started his career as a fresh-faced, curly-haired youngster in 1980.
“I have no intentions of going anywhere. I’m really happy here. We are quietly ticking things along,” Moyes said last week (Daily Record).
Despite the lure of Celtic, Moyes’ work at West Ham is not done just yet.
