Wolverhampton Wanderers will find themselves lumbered with Leo Bonatini again very soon with Vitoria Guimaraes set to send the forgotten striker back to Molineux at the end of his loan spell, according to Guimaraes Digital.

Not for the first time in his career, the Brazilian striker started the season in impressive fashion before the goals dried up in dramatic fashion.

Bonatini has now failed to score for Vitoria Guimares since December, with his overall tally standing at a less-than-prolific three in 19 Primeira Liga games.

As a result, who can blame one of the most attractive footballing teams in Portugal for deciding against offering the Wolves loanee a full-time contract?

Speaking to Noticias last summer, Vitoria president Miguel Pinto Lisboa confirmed that there was a ‘purchase option’ in Bonatini’s deal – though he stopped short in explaining exactly how much the Belo Horizonte-born 26-year-old will cost.

But according to new claims made today, Bonatini will be returning to England when the 2019/20 campaign comes to an end.

Though a man farmed out by Nuno in each of the last two seasons is unlikely to stick around at Wolves for long. If they can find a buyer, Bonatini will surely be sold.

After all, Wolves have come a long way since he was striking fear into the heart of Championship defences in Old Gold.
