Nottingham Forest and West Ham were reportedly interested in signing Juventus striker Moise Kean, who is still out on loan from Everton with the Serie A side obligated to buy the attacker next summer.
According to CalcioMercato, the Premier League duo, alongside PSG, were considering a move to sign the Italian international, with Juventus keen to offload the attacker despite technically not being their player just yet, with Kean halfway through a two-year loan spell with the Old Lady which becomes permanent by obligation in 2023.
Despite coming from Juventus’ youth academy and having a storming season with PSG in the 2020/21 campaign, Kean has struggled since returning to Turin with form as the striker bagged just six goals in all competitions under Massimiliano Allegri.
With the Juventus manager this summer signing Arkadiusz Milik on loan to partner Dusan Vlahovic as well as Filip Kostic, Kean will be limited this season despite being just 22 and a player who has shown he can impress in Serie A and UEFA Champions League, hence interest in the summer from Forest and West Ham.
Signed by Everton in 2019 for a reported £27m, Kean struggled to adapt to the Premier League and was loaned out to PSG just a year after being signed by Carlo Ancelotti, where the attacker exploded onto the scene with 17 goals in all competitions for the French giants.
Hailed by Ancelotti as a ‘serious’ talent, Kean’s career now seems to be slipping away at Juventus, yet with both Forest and West Ham interested in signing the youngster in the summer, there’s a strong chance both Premier League clubs could move for the Italian in the January window.
Forest & West Ham should look to sign Kean in January
It feels quite incredible that Kean is still just 22-years-old given how long the forward has been in the spotlight for, and with the striker’s career set to stall this season at Juventus, Forest and West Ham both should make moves in January to sign the talented Italian attacker.
After all, the forward has shown he can thrive in the right system, such as PSG’s, and for ambitious sides like Forest and West Ham, signing a player like Kean to their ranks could be a fantastic move that could flesh out their forward options in the new year, where both sides will be looking to make statements in the league.
