Nottingham Forest have reportedly made a £17m bid to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Djibril Sow, with Steve Cooper looking to bring in a 15th senior player this summer.
According to TalkSport via the Nottingham Post, the Garibaldi have launched an offer to sign the 25-year-old midfielder, who last season was a key player for the Bundesliga side in their UEFA Europa League triumph as Frankfurt claimed European silverware against Rangers on penalties.
A regular for the European champions, Forest have identified Sow as a potential signing to add to the 14 other additions Cooper has made this summer, with the English coach this weekend securing his first Premier League win for the club in a 1-0 victory at the City Ground against West Ham.
With their first points on the board, Cooper is now seemingly looking to make more signings to complete the squad ahead of Forest’s first Premier League season in 23 years, with Sow seemingly the club’s next target as a central midfielder looks set to be the next arrival in Nottingham.
Labelled as a ‘destructive’ player via the Bundesliga’s official website, the Swiss international would be an outstanding new signing for Forest this summer as Cooper looks to add more defensive steel and athleticism in the midfield, with Sow often deployed in a box-to-box role for Frankfurt.
Indeed, Forest have gone all out this summer upon their return to the Premier League, and signing a player like Sow could be huge in the club’s chances of remaining in the top-flight following their promotion back into the big time, and Cooper could do with sealing a deal for the midfielder soon.
Sow could save Forest Premier League points if signing is completed

Some players can save clubs important points based on their quality alone, and Sow can do just that if Forest manage to sign the Bundesliga star this summer, with the Frankfurt star the sort of talent who could add quality defensive traits that are needed in the midfield for the season.
Defence and keeping as many goals out as possible is the best way to stay up in the Premier League, and Sow could save Forest the points needed to keep them up in the English top-flight and to kickstart their new era after over twenty years away from the biggest division in the game.
