The Reds defender had been linked with a switch from the City Ground to a potential return to Italy.

Nottingham Forest have reportedly decided to extend Yohan Benalouane’s contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2021, according to Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb.
The 32-year-old defender swapped one East Midlands side for another as he joined the Reds from Leicester City in the January transfer window.
Benalouane, a Tunisia international, made 14 appearances for the Trickies last season and scored one goal, against bitter rivals Derby County in the East Midlands derby.
TMW had suggested that the veteran was considering a return to Italy, where he played for the likes of Cesena, Parma, Atalanta and Fiorentina on the peninsula.
Although Forest have not yet confirmed that Benalouane has officially extended his stay beyond his current deal until 2020 (Transfermarkt), a recent tweet posted by the player suggests that he’s not going anywhere just yet.
Benalouane confirmed earlier this month that he will miss the start of the season, but stresses that he cannot wait to return to action for the Reds.
The January signing has not played yet for Forest during pre-season, on social media, and did not post an exact time frame for his return.
