According to The Telegraph, Paulo Fonseca is bringing Tiago Leal to Tottenham Hotspur with him as he begins to plan for the job.
Football.London reported on Tuesday that Fonseca was closing in on the Tottenham job after further talks with managing director of football Fabio Paratici.
Fonseca allegedly spoke about his coaching staff in those talks, and his first move is now becoming clear.
Fonseca to reunite with Leal
It’s stated that Fonseca will be bringing Tiago Leal with him, having worked together at Pacos Ferreira, Braga, Shakhtar Donetsk and Roma.
Leal was a scout with the first three clubs, but stepped up into a technical coaching role at Roma, and is likely to take up a similar role at Tottenham.
Leal is only 36 but is moving up in the world of coaching. Fonseca’s long-term assistant Nuno Campos isn’t moving to Tottenham though, so there could yet be scope for Leal to move from being a coach to an assistant manager.

What else does Fonseca want at Tottenham?
Those talks with Paratici allegedly centred around forming a coaching staff ready for Premier League football.
Fonseca is also pursuing defensive coaches to help boost Tottenham’s back line, so expect more staff members to come in soon.
Ledley King and Ryan Mason are staying at Tottenham though, and fans will be fascinated to learn who joins them.
