According to Globo Esporte, Liverpool’s deal to sign Marcelo Pitaluga has sparked protests from Fluminense fans.
Goal reported on Monday that Liverpool will complete the signing of Fluminense stopper Pitaluga this week having agreed a £2million deal.
The 17-year-old will allegedly head into the Liverpool Under-23 setup, and he can join immediately given that he holds a German passport.
Pitaluga will join fellow Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson at Anfield, and there will be real hopes that he can become a first-team star.
However, the move has sparked outrage in the Fluminense fanbase, with fans protesting outside the club’s headquarters.

Fans criticised the club for being an ‘outlet’, raging against the sales of star youngsters Pitaluga to Liverpool and Evanilson to Porto.
The club’s form – no wins in three games – was another factor, but selling two prospects seems to have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.
