According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers have failed to bring striker Florian Kamberi back to the club as he prepares to join St Gallen.
It’s claimed that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard had finally sanctioned a six-figure move for Kamberi, in an attempt to bolster his strikeforce.
However, Kamberi has allegedly snubbed a two-year deal at Ibrox in order to head back to Switzerland and join St Gallen instead.
The terms on offer weren’t to Kamberi’s liking according to this report, and whilst he was keen on joining Rangers permanently, he’s off to Switzerland.
Kamberi, 25, joined Rangers on loan in January, and hit one goal and two assists in nine games before the global pandemic struck.
Rangers do need to find a striker or two this summer, and signing Kamberi on the cheap may have been appealing to Gerrard following Jermain Defoe’s injury.

However, it’s hard to imagine that Kamberi snubbed Rangers, as he branded them his ‘dream’ move when he joined them on loan.
Turning them down for a return to Switzerland would be a huge surprise, and if we’re being brutally honest, Rangers have been linked with much higher-profile strikers this summer that could yet end up at Ibrox, meaning settling for Kamberi right now wouldn’t make sense.
