Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced a partnership with FC Jumilla, the third-tier Spanish side.

And according to the Express and Star, at least five Wolves players – Sylvain Deslandes, Aaron Simpson, Ryan Leak, Will Randall and Ming-Yang Yang – are already ‘training and playing’ for Wanderers’ new affiliates in Spain.

Of those five – whom the newspaper claims that Kevin Thelwell, the Wolves sporting director, has visited – only Deslandes has appeared competitively for the Premier League side’s first team.

Last month, the Express and Star listed the French left-back as one of nine senior players – alongside Phil Ofosu-Ayeh, Dominic Iorfa, Ethan Ebanks-Landell, Jordan Graham, Connor Ronan, Michal Zyro, Joe Mason and Paul Gladon – Wolves were looking to offload before the summer’s end.

However, the other eight of those remain on the club’s books.

It is unclear how much time the quintet are due to spend with Jumilla, who are based in Murcia.
