Konstantinos Mavropanos is facing an uncertain future at Arsenal with no less than five Bundesliga clubs showing an interest in the giant centre-back, according to Goal.
It’s fair to say there has been plenty of discussion about Mikel Arteta’s defensive options in recent weeks.
David Luiz, Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos have all been tipped to depart while a whole host of talented ball-winners have been apparently lined up to partner William Saliba at the Emirates.
One man who has been strangely absent from the conversation, however, is Mavropanos.
Perhaps this is a reflection of what the future holds for the Greece U21 international. They say any publicity is good publicity and, by that logic, the lack of discussions surrounding Mavropanos suggest that he is in danger of falling by the wayside.
Goal reports that a man who moved to north London during the final few months of the Arsene Wenger era for just £1.8 million would love to stay and fight for his place at Arsenal.

But, with five clubs in the Bundesliga interested, he’s fully aware that a permanent departure from the London giants could give him the regular first-team football he needs at a crucial juncture in his young career.
Mavropanos has impressed on loan at German second-tier outfit Nurnberg in recent months.
And, after a few months of progress on the continent, it would seem a shame if the 6ft 4ins man mountain returned to north London to sit on the bench or, heaven’s forbid, in the stands.
