According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina are pushing to sign Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira – and expect positive news soon.

It’s claimed that Torreira is being picked out to improve Beppe Iachini’s midfield, with Fiorentina now insisting on a deal.

Fiorentina seemingly believe there will be good news imminently, and hope to get him signed up very soon.

Torreira, 24, hasn’t quite lived up to his billing since signing from Sampdoria in the summer of 2018.

The Uruguayan is combative and committed, but doesn’t particularly fit what Mikel Arteta is currently looking to do.

A move has been suggested for weeks now, and Il Romanista reported earlier this month that a swap deal was a possibility.

Roma wanted a swap involving Torreira and Amadou Diawara, but that now doesn’t seem to be happening.

With Torreira considered to be a proven Serie A player, and Fiorentina will pay up to land him – possibly adding to Arsenal’s budget for reinforcements.
