Jordan Veretout misses Saint-Etienne medical as Fiorentina hijack deal to sign Aston Villa midfielder.
Veretout was due to have a medical at the Ligue 1 club on Wednesday (July 19) but skipped it after learning of the interest from La Viola.

St Etienne and Villa had agreed a deal for the 24-year-old, but now the Italians have jumped to the front of the queue and are prepared to pay £6.2m to land the Frenchman.
French publication L’Equipe also reported of interest from Spain in the shape of Real Betis, but nothing has materialised from that angle as yet.
Veretout spent last season on loan in his home country with St Etienne and the same French newspaper said that manager Oscar Garcia had been directly in touch with Veretout over a move.
Now it seems like Serie A could be the Villans’ star’s next home, bringing to an end a two-year stay at the Birmingham club in which he made 29 appearances.
