Toby Alderweireld reportedly goes on holiday before having final talks with Tottenham Hotspur as expected transfer edges closer.

Toby Alderweireld is moving ever closer to an exit from Tottenham Hotspur as final talks between the two parties have been called off, reports the Evening Standard.
Contract negotiations between Spurs and Alderweireld had been going on for much of the season, but were ended when the defender rejected their offer of £120,000-a-week – which would have more than doubled the Belgian’s current earnings of £50,000-a-week.

Yet ahead of the North Londoners’ final game of the campaign against Leicester City, manager Mauricio Pochettino suggested there would be one last discussion between club and player.
However, that hasn’t happened with Alderweireld having already left the country to go on holiday in Greece and now it seems almost certain the 29-year-old has played his last game in a Tottenham shirt.

Manchester United still lead the way for the Belgium international’s signature, although a frosty relationship between them and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could make striking a deal difficult.
In that case Paris Saint-Germain are the next favourites to land Alderweireld, who is valued at around £40m, with Barcelona and Chelsea also showing interest.
