Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are close to completing a deal for Filip Helander, with Steven Gerrard’s side keen on the centre-back.

According to a report in the Daily Record, Filip Helander is pushing to join Glasgow Rangers.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers side are trying to bring in Helander, and the Swedish defender wants a move sooner rather than later.
Helander, who currently plays for Bologna, is keen to move to Rangers and is now urging his current club to sell him to Ibrox.
The Swede has fallen out of favour in Italy, and reportedly feels that a move to Rangers would suit him.
Rangers and Bologna are in the final stages of talks, but are yet to agree on a fee.

It has been widely reported that Rangers will pay £4.3 million for Helander, but the Record claim that their sources think Gerrard’s men can get the centre-back for £3.5 million.
If Helander does sign up at Rangers he is likely to complete Gerrard’s centre-back line-up for next season, with the likes of Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and George Edmundson already at the club.
