Glasgow Rangers are reportedly closing in on bringing Filip Helander to Ibrox.

According to a report from Goal, Filip Helander’s prospective move to Rangers has moved a step closer with the defender agreeing a three-year deal with the Scottish Premiership side.
Steven Gerrard appears to be close to landing his eighth signing of the summer. Goal reports that Rangers have actually not yet agreed a price with Bologna, but a fee of around £3.6 million is likely to be enough for the Gers to get the Sweden international.
But Goal suggests that their sources have claimed that Helander has already agreed a three-year contract at Ibrox, so it would appear that a deal may not be too far away at this stage.
Rangers’ most inspired buy this summer?
It has been an incredibly busy summer for the Gers, with seven signings already through the door and plenty of time left to make further additions. There have been some exciting acquisitions, but Helander may perhaps be the most inspired buy of the lot should the deal go through.

The 26-year-old has spent the last four seasons in Serie A. He provides the experience at the highest level that Connor Goldson, Nikola Katic and George Edmundson perhaps lack, and yet, he is young enough to become a stalwart of the side for years to come.
It is a big risk to spend so much on the centre-back. But there appears to be every chance that Helander’s arrival could be looked back upon as a defining moment as the Gers look to end their wait for their 55th league title.
