Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Arne Slot could take an early hit with Feyenoord considering keeping Sipke Hulshoff.

Arne Slot could miss out on Sipke Hulshoff with Feyenoord hoping to keep him ‘at all costs’ this summer.

That is according to Feyenoord site 1908.nl, who claim that Hulshoff could now become the new Feyenoord boss.

The expectation is that Tottenham will firm up their interest in appointing Feyenoord boss Slot as their new manager.

The Times claim that Slot is open to the Tottenham job and he is set for crunch talks with Feyenoord over a departure.

Feyenoord are starting to plan for life without Slot and are considering a number of potential managerial appointments.

One of them is current Feyenoord assistant manager Hulshoff, in a potential deal that would leave Slot gutted.

Arne Slot wants Sipke Hulshoff at Tottenham Hotspur

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Tottenham face a hefty fee to bring Slot to North London.

The reason given was that Slot was planning to bring Hulshoff and Marino Pusic to Tottenham.

The package deal for all three is likely to be expensive but Hulshoff could now end up staying in Rotterdam.

Hulshoff, 48, currently serves as Slot’s assistant manager at Feyenoord whilst also having a role with the Dutch national team.

Slot promoted Hulshoff from the Feyenoord Under-21 side last summer and seemingly rates his coaching highly.

Hulshoff started out coaching the youth teams of Groningen and Cambuur before joining Red Bull Ghana in 2011.

After a stint as Al-Arabi caretaker manager, Hulshoff returned to Cambuur as assistant manager before numerous stints as their caretaker.

Hulshoff moved onto FC Volendam and then Feyenoord, where he has been a key part of Slot’s operation.

Slot understandably wants Hulshoff to follow him to Tottenham but he could be given a golden chance to become a manager in his own right with Feyenoord.

That will be incredibly tempting for Hulshoff and it may deliver a very early blow to Slot’s Tottenham move.
