Newcastle United may need to move quickly to land Nicolai Jorgensen this summer.

According to Algemeen Dagblad, Feyenoord believe they can secure a major fee for striker Nicolai Jorgensen this summer amid recent interest from Newcastle United.
Jorgensen, 27, hit 21 league goals last season to fire Feyenoord to the Eredivisie title, and with nine goals in all competitions this term, the Dane has continued to impress.
That goal record triggered January interest from Newcastle United, but Feyenoord stood firm despite a €17million (£15million) from the Magpies, and have managed to keep their star striker at De Kuip.

Now, it’s claimed that Feyenoord didn’t want to sell in January as they believe they can score an even greater fee in the summer, with a belief that he could move for over £20million at the end of the season.
World Cup key for Newcastle
Feyenoord will hope that Jorgensen scores plenty of goals between now and the end of the season to boost his price tag, but the major factor may in fact be the World Cup this summer.

Jorgensen is expected to play a key role for the Danes in Russia, and goals from the Feyenoord hitman could see his value soar, as is often the case for players who score on the world’s biggest stage.
If Newcastle want to avoid running into the situation where their top striker target gets further out of their price range, then they may need to quickly secure a deal between the end of the Dutch season in May and the start of the World Cup in June.
The Daily Star claim that Newcastle remain keen on Jorgensen, but with reports in the Netherlands suggesting that Feyenoord are looking for a greater fee, Newcastle may find themselves in a tricky situation – especially if the saga stretches into the World Cup.
