Feyenoord have reportedly offered a contract to striker John Guidetti.
According to Voetbal International, Feyenoord have already offered a contract to striker John Guidetti in a bid to tempt him back to Rotterdam.
Feyenoord completed the signing of ex-Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt on Friday, offering the 34-year-old an emotional return to De Kuip from next season.
With ex-Rangers midfielder Giovanni van Bronckhorst set to become the club’s new manager this summer, it looks like being the dawn of a new era in Rotterdam at the end of the season.
As a result, it looks like Feyenoord will push the boat out to re-sign striker Guidetti, with Voetbal International reporting that Feyenoord have already offered the Swede a contract.
The 22-year-old will become a free agent this summer when his Manchester City contract expires, meaning he can now sign a pre-contract agreement to join any club on a free transfer.
Guidetti enjoyed a superb spell on loan with Feyenoord in the 2011-12 season, scoring 20 goals in 23 games, becoming a De Kuip hero as a result.
Guidetti is currently on a season-long loan with Celtic, and has scored 14 goals in 32 games this season, blowing hot and cold throughout for the Bhoys.
Given a recent poor run of goalscoring form, it seems unlikely that Ronny Deila’s men are going to pursue a deal to sign him permanently this summer – which may leave Feyenoord in the clear to sign him, if indeed they have already offered him a contract.
