QPR are reportedly looking to bring Steve McClaren back to the club.
Manager Steve McClaren looks dejected
According to The Sun, Queens Park Rangers owner Tony Fernandes is lining up a move to bring Steve McClaren back to the club as help for manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
QPR lost their EFL Cup tie with Sunderland on Wednesday evening, as whilst Sandro opened the scoring for the R’s, two goals from Paddy McNair gave the Black Cats a passage into the last 16.

It’s now three defeats in a row in all competitions for QPR, and they currently sit 16th in the Championship table after a somewhat underwhelming start to the campaign.
Recent results mean there is some simmering pressure on manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and The Times even claimed last week that QPR are monitoring Tony Pulis’ situation at West Brom in the hope of landing him as their new manager.

Now, The Sun report that QPR owner Tony Fernandes doesn’t actually intend to replace Hasselbaink less than a year after luring him from Burton Albion – but he could hand him some support.
The report states that Fernandes is keen to bring Steve McClaren back to the club, having previously worked at Loftus Road alongside Harry Redknapp in 2013 before moving on to Derby County.

Out of work since losing his job at Newcastle United in March, McClaren may be looking to get back into football now, and it’s now suggested that he’s in line to reunite with Hasselbaink.
McClaren managed Hasselbaink at Middlesbrough and are believed to have remained close ever since, and having already worked under Fernandes, it seems to be a move that suit all parties with McClaren allegedly nearing a senior position at Loftus Road.
