That is why it does not come as a surprise to hear that Fenerbahce have reportedly turned down the chance to sign West Ham striker Carroll in the summer transfer window on a free.
According to Fanatik, the former Liverpool and Newcastle United striker has been offered to Fenerbahce on a free transfer as he is not in the plans of new West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini.
Comolli, though, is reported to have turned down the chance to sign the 29-year-old England international striker even on a free transfer due to his poor injury record.
Good decision?
Carroll has had injury issues throughout his time at West Ham so far, and the former Liverpool and Newcastle striker will not be in action for three months after an operation on his ankle, as reported by BBC Sport.
While a fully fit Carroll is an asset to the team, Fenerbahce sporting director Comolli has done the right thing by reportedly rejecting the chance to sign the West Ham striker.
Carroll joined West Ham from Liverpool in the summer of 2013 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £15 million after spending the 2012-13 campaign on loan at the Hammers from the Reds.
