Fenerbahce have reportedly agreed a deal for Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz.

According to Ajansspor in Turkey, Fenerbahce have agreed a deal with Manchester City to take midfielder Douglas Luiz on loan for the season amid interest from Celtic.
Luiz, 20, starred in his native Brazil with Vasco da Gama, and after scoring five goals in 39 games, Manchester City swooped to sign him last summer as Pep Guardiola’s men identified him as a star of the future.
The midfielder was sent out on loan to City’s sister club Girona last season, and he made just one league start before attempting to return to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
Boss Guardiola had lined Luiz up for a first-team role and included him in pre-season games, but the Brazilian was again refused a work permit to play in England, meaning another loan move is on the cards.
Earlier this week, The Herald reported that Celtic were looking to take Luiz on loan, given that the work permit procedure in Scotland is somewhat less stringent than in England, with the Bhoys looking to continue their strong links to City.
Daniel Arzani has just joined Celtic on loan from City, whilst Jason Denayer, John Guidetti, Dedryck Boyata, Patrick Roberts and Olivier Ntcham have also made the move to Glagow.

However, a move for Luiz appears to be fading away, as Ajansspor in Turkey report that Fenerbahce have struck a deal to take the midfielder on loan for the season, pipping rivals Galatasaray to a move.
That would leave Celtic going back to the drawing board yet again in this summer’s transfer market, with boss Brendan Rodgers already frustrated at a lack of movement.
