Fenerbahce have reportedly launched a bid to sign Nottingham Forest defender Loic Mbe Soh, who is seemingly not a part of Steve Cooper’s plans for the new Premier League season at the City Ground.

According to FotoSpor, the Istanbul giants have made a last-minute offer to sign the 21-year-old the day the transfer window closes in Turkey, with clubs in the Super Lig making frantic last-second pushes to get deals over the line, with Fenerbahce lining up a move for Soh.

The 21-year-old has played just once under Cooper at Forest, with the defender starting in this season’s 3-0 League Cup win against Grimsby Town, and the former PSG academy prospect now looks set to leave Nottingham for first-team football in Turkey, with Fenerbahce chasing the youngster’s signature.

Forest reportedly beat Championship sides Norwich City and Middlesbrough to Soh’s signature back in 2020, yet despite arriving as a product of PSG and a France youth international at numerous age groups, the youngster has failed to impress those at the City Ground, with a transfer now imminent.

Playing just 14 games in his entire senior career, few would have imagined Soh’s move to England to have failed as badly as it has, especially under a manager as good as Cooper at developing young players, yet the Forest youngster seems to be on the verge of ending this chapter in his footballing life.

Indeed, Fenerbahce will be a good next club for the youngster with the Turkish giants able to offer Soh UEFA Europa League football and regular minutes in the Super Lig, and for the centre-back, he can easily redeem himself with a late summer move in the coming hours.

Soh signed for Forest as a 19-year-old who had already made three appearances for PSG’s senior team, and to leave the City Ground after what has happened over the last two years is a bitter disappointment for the French youngster, who can now have a chance to prove many fans and pundits wrong by signing for Fenerbahce.

After all, Fener are one of the biggest clubs in Turkey and in recent years have had a good record of developing young players from outside their academy, and Soh could easily join this list in the coming seasons if he buckles down and works hard at trying to be as good as he can be on the pitch.
