Tottenham have reportedly agreed to loan Janssen back to Fener.
Turkish outlet Skor Sozcu have claimed that Fenerbahce have agreed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to secure the services of Vincent Janssen for another season, after a disappointing 2017-18 campaign in Turkey.
The 24-year-old was loaned to Fener last season after Mauricio Pochettino decided to sign Fernando Llorente from Swansea City, meaning the Dutchman plummeted to third choice.
Llorente failed to impress following his £12million move, which led to some sections of fans suggesting that Janssen deserved another chance to act as Harry Kane’s back-up.
However, Spaniard Llorente has impressed in pre-season and even scored a brace against AS Roma on Wednesday night, while Janssen was left out of Spurs’ squad to tour the US.
Now, it is believed Holland international Janssen is to agree another season-long loan deal with Fener, as former Spurs chief Damien Comolli steps up his transfer activity after becoming the Turkish club’s director of football.
Janssen still has two years remaining on his Spurs contract, but it seems as though one of those will be with Fenerbahce as he is expected to complete a loan move before the end of the week – along with Swansea City’s Andre Ayew.
