West Ham United appear to be closing in on Lazio winger Felipe Anderson.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio winger Felipe Anderson has said goodbye to fans after leaving the club’s training ground early on Wednesday.
Anderson, 25, has been the subject of intense interest from West Ham United this summer, and the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that a £40million deal was close, with the Hammers applying for his work permit to play in the Premier League.
There has been no official confirmation of an agreement yet, but reports in Italy suggest that a deal is moving closer and closer, with West Ham closing in on their top target.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports – with photographic proof – that Anderson left Lazio’s pre-season training early on Wednesday, and said goodbye to fans outside the training ground as he seemingly heads for London.
Anderson, 25, has been with Lazio for five years having arrived from Santos in 2013, and has seemingly signified the end of his time in the Italian capital with his goodbye less than 24 hours ago.
The Brazilian wide man has impressed at the Stadio Olimpico, hitting eight goals and 10 assists for Lazio last season, and he leaves with 34 goals in 177 appearances.
Quick and skilful with the ability to play out wide or behind a striker, Anderson appears to be the flair player that West Ham need in the absence of injured star Manuel Lanzini, and new boss Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that he makes a strong start to life in East London.
