Massimo Cellino is considering a return to English football despite a turbulent time at Leeds United.

Cellino has earmarked Charlton Athletic and Reading as two potential clubs he could buy, TMW reports.

The maverick Italian owned Leeds between 2014 and 2017 and sacked six managers along the way.

Triumphant return to Italy turned sour

Cellino returned to Italy in the summer of 2017 and took over Serie B side Brescia.

After a mixed first year in which he sacked and re-hired the same coach, Brescia achieved promotion as champions last season.

Their promotion to Serie A has been tough, Brescia sit bottom, and Cellino has repeatedly clashed with Italian authorities over the season’s restart, and other issues.

He reportedly sees a return to English football as an escape route. Whether Charlton or Reading would welcome him, is another matter.
