Everton fans had been hoping that Marcel Brands’ appointment would spell the end for Steve Walsh.

Steve Walsh, assistant manager celebrates on stage during the Leicester City Barclays Premier League Winners Bus Parade on May 16, 2016 in Leicester, England.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Everton are set to keep Steve Walsh on – in what would be a controversial move from the Goodison Park club.

The Mail claim that Toffees owner Farhad Moshiri is keen to keep Walsh at the club, despite lining up a move for Marcel Brands.

Brands is set to come in at Everton as technical director, and most Toffees fans had been hoping that appointment would signal the end for both Sam Allardyce and Walsh.

Farhad Moshiri, Everton owner is seen prior to the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

However, it now seems that Walsh could now be given yet another chance to impress at Everton.

Moshiri wants both Brands and Walsh to work in tandem, to deliver results for Everton.

Walsh’ transfers at Goodison Park so far have been very hit and miss, with Everton struggling to live up to expectations this season.

The Toffees are currently in ninth place in the Premier League table, which is a disappointing return, considering the sizeable amount of money they spent last season.
