According to a report in the Daily Star, Everton owner Farhad Moshiri now has doubts over appointing Marco Silva.

Everton went all out to appoint Silva earlier this season, but were frustrated in their efforts, with Watford demanding an extortionate asking price.

The Toffees ended up missing out on the Portuguese boss, and decided to place Sam Allardyce in charge instead.

Everton’s interest appeared to disrupt Silva’s progress at Watford, and he has now been released.

Everton could now appoint Silva without having to pay a compensation package, but they have avoided doing so to date.

And Moshiri is now said to have serious doubts over Silva’s quality.
