According to Sky Sports, Galatasaray have made a loan approach for Tottenham’s Japhet Tanganga.
The defender hasn’t played much football for Spurs over the past 12 months. He’s struggled with injuries and hasn’t kicked on as many had expected him to after a storming start to his senior career.
Tottenham’s defence is seemingly set for a shake-up. Cristian Romero, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kurt Zouma have all been linked, while Toby Alderweireld has departed.
A new manager may mean a fresh chance for Tanganga, but now, Nuno Espirito Santo has a chance to send Tanganga out on loan if he believes that is the best course of action.
Galatasaray wouldn’t be a bad place for a loan. The Turkish outfit are one of the best teams in their country, and after finishing second in the Super Lig last season, they may well be playing Champions League football this season if they can navigate qualifying.
Tanganga has ability. After all, he has been labelled as ‘fantastic’ by Jose Mourinho in the past, and while the former Chelsea boss didn’t utilise him all that much last term, he wanted to keep him close in 2020/21 as he blocked a January deadline day move to Celtic.
