Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli is wanted by Monaco, the Telegraph report.

Paul Mitchell, who was involved in bringing Alli to Tottenham, now works for the French club and he is keen to bring in the attacking midfielder.

Alli’s place at Tottenham has fallen into doubt this term, as he has been repeatedly overlooked by Jose Mourinho.

The England international, who was recently criticised by Glenn Hoddle on BT Sport, has often missed out on even being a part of Tottenham’s match day squads, with his performances coming under fire.

Alli has been hooked off at half-time twice already this season, and his confidence appears to have been dented.

Tottenham rejected approaches for Alli in the summer, but his continued struggles may make them more keen to do business in January.

And it seems that Monaco could well make a bid for the 24-year-old to test the waters.

Monaco have made a rather middling start to the campaign this term, and currently sit in eighth place in the Ligue 1 table, but they would be able to offer Alli regular game time, which could appeal to him.
