Tottenham’s John McDermott is reportedly wanted by the FA.

According to the London Evening Standard, the FA want to target Tottenham Hotspur’s John McDermott for their technical director role – but he isn’t keen on leaving Spurs.
The FA are set to lose technical director Dan Ashworth, as the former West Bromwich Albion man will move on in order to take up a similar role with Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
Ashworth has been a key part of the FA’s setup in recent years, and it’s imperative that the FA find a replacement quickly – and three names have already been linked.
The London Evening Standard report that Liverpool duo Alex Inglethorpe and Steve Heighway are both being targeted, but so is Tottenhm’s McDermott.
McDermott’s work with Spurs over the last few years has been recognised, and it’s believed that he is wanted – but he isn’t keen on leaving Tottenham right now.

It’s believed that the 49-year-old wants to stay, and is unlikely to want the job, meaning one of Mauricio Pochettino’s key men should be staying in North London.
Pochettino promoted McDermott from being head of coaching and development, to overseeing every age group below the Spurs first team in 2016, and it looks like he will continue to have a huge role at Spurs moving forward.
