It has been reported by the Daily Star that the Football Association (FA) are keen on hiring Brendan Rodgers, if Gareth Southgate decides to call it quits as England manager.
FA considering bringing in Rodgers as Three Lions boss
Further details claim that FA chief executive Mark Bullingham is keen on hiring another Englishman if Southgate departs his role.
However, the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard have not been deemed good enough for the role, while Eddie Howe and Graham Potter are in charge of Newcastle and Chelsea respectively.
As a result, the FA have considered hiring Leicester City tactician, Brendan Rodgers, even though he hails from Northern Ireland.
Bullingham hopes Rodgers would be interested in taking over the job as England manager.

With Gareth Southgate expected to decline the FA chief executive’s offer of a huge pay rise by bidding farewell to the England role, it seems as if the only potential incoming is none other than the ex-Liverpool manager.
While it clearly seems like Rodgers is well-liked by Bullingham, his ideal scenario still remains that Southgate decides to fulfil his ongoing contract till 2024.
Rodgers should jump at the chance of becoming England boss
Yes, the job of becoming England manager is a poisoned chalice in some ways, as it is perhaps one of the most high-pressure managerial gigs in the game.
However, seeing how Brendan Rodgers has struggled at Leicester since last season, he would rarely get a chance as big to exhibit his talents than as Three Lions boss.
Plus, Rodgers will have the chance to work alongside some of the finest players in world football as well.
With the Northern Irishman also not having to deal with the hassle of Leicester’s lack of investment and merely focusing on the coaching side of things at international level, he should pounce at any offer to succeed Southgate as England manager.
