According to Goal, Bayern Munich will not be signing Douglas Costa from Juventus once his loan deal ends, amid interest from Leeds.
Goal claim that the German giants are not interested in extending the Brazilian’s loan, or turning the deal into a permanent one.
As a result, Juventus will now look to sell the 30-year-old, who is believed to be of interest to Leeds and Marcelo Bielsa.
It was Calciomercato who claimed that Bielsa wants Costa at Elland Road, as he’s a fan of the forward’s technical qualities.
Now, the Argentine’s hopes of landing the £35.2 million man have been given a boost, after Bayern Munich made their stance clear.
Goal do not state how much Juventus will want for Costa.
However, we’d presume that the Italian giants would like a fair chunk of their initial £35.2 million investment back.
If Bielsa can get Costa to Leeds, it would be one of the best signings in the club’s history.
The 31-cap Brazil international is a hugely decorated footballer, having won two Bundesliga titles and three Serie A titles among many more domestic cups.
He has also been described as ‘extremely quick’ and ‘very agile’ by former Bayern Munich Sporting Director Matthias Sammer, who oversaw Costa’s arrival.
With Raphinha on one wing and Costa on the other, Leeds would be a force to be reckoned with.
