Barcelona are allegedly willing to sell Newcastle United target Ansu Fati – but he may not fancy joining West Ham United.

That is according to 90Min, who claim that Fati has now been told that he can leave Barcelona this summer.

Barca are focusing on the return of Lionel Messi, which means raising funds is absolutely vital for the Catalan giants.

Fati could be one player to go with Barcelona telling him that he is free to leave this summer.

It’s only two years since Fati was given Messi’s number 10 shirt at Barcelona, a decision viewed as a passing of the torch.

Injuries have been an enormous problem for Fati though and he has been limited to just 14 league starts over the last two seasons.

The 20-year-old has managed four goals and three assists this season but has mostly been coming off the bench.

Barcelona now seem ready to give up on Fati, despite Xavi calling him ‘extraordinary’ earlier this season.

Ansu Fati unlikely to want West Ham United move

The report states that Fati has interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with agent Jorge Mendes trying to pull off a swap deal involving Ruben Neves.

West Ham United are keen too, but it’s suggested that Fati isn’t all that keen on the idea.

Wolves and West Ham have struggled this season and find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

Fati was meant to be Barcelona’s next big thing; he seemingly doesn’t want to make that kind of drop right now.

That could be ideal news for Newcastle United, who have also been linked with Fati.

Claims from transfer insider Dean Jones in April suggested that Newcastle are keen to sign Fati on loan this summer.

The Magpies are being linked with a number of wingers and Fati is just one of them.

Newcastle should have Champions League football on offer next season, making them immediately more appealing than West Ham or Wolves.

That may be more like it for Fati, who has plenty to think about as he considers his future at the Camp Nou.
