Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made Porto defender Ricardo Pereira one of their top transfer targets.

According to a report in the Daily Telegraph, Tottenham Hotspur’s move for Ricardo Pereira has been complicated over a dispute over who represents the right-back.

Tottenham have made the Porto defender their first choice to replace Kyle Walker, if he moves away from the North London club his summer.

However, a contractual dispute means that any transfer for Pereira could be difficult for Spurs to complete this summer.

Tottenham could, therefore, have to assess their other options, as they search for potential replacements for Walker.

Kieran Trippier, who is already at Spurs, is expected to get a run in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team, after being handed a new long-term contract.

But Tottenham are also thought to be hunting another senior right-back, to provide competition for Trippier next season.

The Daily Mail suggest that Walker’s most likely destination this summer is Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola keen to snap up the England international.
