Roy Hodgson and the Crystal Palace bosses are at odds over the club’s transfer strategy, with talks over the manager’s future set to take place in the very near future, according to the Mail.
When Project Re-start got underway in June, the Eagles were flying high and dreaming of European football.
Now, with just one matchday remaining, they have been consigned to a disappointing bottom-half finish after a dismal run of seven successive defeats.
As a result, question marks have arisen around the future of the Premier League’s oldest manager, with the Mail suggesting that Sean Dyche, who has done an outstanding job on similar resources at perennial overachievers Burnley, has been lined up as a potential replacement.
With Hodgson’s future becoming increasingly uncertain due to some dreadful performances off the pitch and apparent disagreements off it, the Mail adds that ‘crunch talks’ will take place with ten months to run on the former England boss’s contract.

Hodgson, it seems, wants to add some more battle-scarred veterans to the second-oldest squad in the division, perhaps inspired by the roaring success of Gary Cahill since the 34-year-old centre-back joined on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer.
Palace chairman Steve Parish, however, would prefer to add an injection of youth in the transfer market – a policy completely at odds with Hodgson’s plans.
In recent months, the Londoners have signed teenagers Scott Banks and Nathan Ferguson while expressing an interest in Eberechi Eze, Dwight McNeil and ex-Reading starlet Danny Loader.
