Tottenham Hotspur look set to lose teenage striker Reo Griffiths.

According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur teenager Reo Griffiths decided that he wanted to leave the club when he was left out of the club’s US tour.
Spurs have already seen Nonso Madueke and Keanan Bennetts leave the club’s development ranks for moves to Europe with PSV Eindhoven and Borussia Monchengladbach respectively, and another player looks set to follow suit.
Reports over the last 24 hours have suggested that striker Reo Griffiths is leaving the club this summer, despite penning a 12-month extension on his scholarship deal just last month.
The striker hit 27 goals in 20 games for Tottenham’s Under-18’s last season, and many Spurs fans were touting him to become the backup to Harry Kane that Mauricio Pochettino has been seeking.
Now though, The Mirror report that the scholarship deal has been cancelled and Griffiths is leaving, with German side RB Leipzig – headed up by ex-Spurs recruitment chief Paul Mitchell – are pushing for his signature.
It’s added that Griffiths decided he needed to move on after he was left out of Tottenham’s squad for their US tour last week, despite the likes of Kane and Dele Alli being unavailable.

At the time, it looked like a perplexing decision from Pochettino, especially given that he did select the likes of TJ Eyoma, George Marsh, Kazaiah Sterling, Oliver Skipp and Tashan Oakley-Boothe for the tour.
Now, Pochettino’s decision looks like a huge mistake, as goal machine Griffiths is leaving Spurs – and fans will be hoping that he doesn’t come back to haunt Tottenham in the years to come, with his exit gutting after so many goals last season, and the club’s need for a striker.
