Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly avoiding a move for Morgan Schneiderlin in January.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur won’t be pursuing a January deal for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin because Mauricio Pochettino is happy with Harry Winks.
Schneiderlin, 27, was one of the top midfielders in the Premier League during his time with Southampton, and his performances earned him a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2015.

Whilst the Frenchman was in and out of the side last season, he has played just 11 minutes of Premier League action this term, and will be allowed to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
As a result, Premier League clubs are starting to eye up Schneiderlin for a move next month, with BBC Sport claiming that both Everton and West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing him.
The news of Schneiderlin’s expected departure comes after United actually blocked him from leaving on deadline day in August, with the Daily Mail reporting that Tottenham failed with a move to reunite him with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin
Pochettino and Schneiderlin worked together at Southampton with great success, and BBC Sport even reported in the summer of 2014 that Pochettino was targeting a Tottenham reunion with the player, but the deal didn’t go through.
Some expected Tottenham to return with a new move for Schneiderlin in January, but the Daily Mail claim that Spurs aren’t interested in him anymore, as manager Pochettino is happy with the development of youngster Harry Winks.
The 20-year-old midfielder has broken into the Tottenham side this season, and is competing with the likes of Moussa Dembele, Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama for a spot in the Spurs midfield, meaning any move for Schneiderlin would push him down the pecking order.
Pochettino’s decision suggests that he will continue to focus on developing the club’s young players rather than splashing out on big signings, which is a policy that has worked for Tottenham so far.
