Burnley defender Michael Keane is reportedly wanted by Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester United.
England’s Michael Keane applauds fans after the match
According to The Mirror, Burnley defender Michael Keane is unsure about joining Chelsea due to fears over how much first-team football he would play.
Keane, 24, came up through the ranks at Manchester United before leaving to join Burnley on loan initially and eventually permanently, and he has blossomed at Turf Moor.
The centre back not only played a key part in Burnley’s Championship title win last season, but has been arguably their star man in the Premier League as well, with his performances earning him English recognition.
Having made his debut against Germany last month, Keane is being touted for a big role under Gareth Southgate – and his exploits have now triggered major Premier League interest.
The Mirror claim that Everton are confident that they will win the race to sign Keane, ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Whilst Everton have allegedly yet to reach Burnley’s £25million asking price for the defender, manager Ronald Koeman is claimed to be confident that Keane will snub Liverpool – not all that surprising given that Keane grew up supporting Manchester United.

United could yet enter the race to re-sign Keane this summer, but the report claims that Keane is unsure about joining Chelsea, due to fears over how much first-team football he would play in a World Cup year.
Everton present him with the best chance of consistent playing time next season, and with just over a year left on his deal, Burnley seem resigned to losing their star defender – but his exact destination is still up in the air.
