Bournemouth and Leeds United have reportedly been put off making a move for Ryan Kent.
Barnsley’s Ryan Kent celebrates scoring
According to The Sun, both Bournemouth and Leeds United have been put off making concrete moves for winger Ryan Kent due to his desire to sign a new contract with Liverpool.
Kent, 20, joined the Reds way back in 2003, aged just seven, and he has been making his way up through the ranks at Anfield ever since.
A strong loan spell with Coventry City in League One last season gave Kent valuable first-team experience, and he built on that again having been loaned out to Barnsley this term.
The wide man – who has featured in just one first-team game for Liverpool – notched three goals and one assist in 44 Championship appearances for the Tykes this season before heading back to Anfield.

Kent’s contract with Liverpool runs out this summer, meaning they are running out of time to secure a new deal with the winger – and The Sun claim that both Bournemouth and Leeds United are keen to land him.
However, it’s also claimed that both teams have been put off making more concrete moves for Kent due to his ‘keenness to sign a new deal’ and push for more football under Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.

Given that Kent is under 23, Liverpool would have been entitled to hefty compensation from Bournemouth, Leeds or any other English club had Kent moved on this summer, though moving to a non-English club would give Liverpool a pittance.
Now though, it seems that Kent is again ready to commit his future to Liverpool, and leave Bournemouth and Leeds to look elsewhere for reinforcements out wide this summer.
