Leeds United have been linked with Liverpool’s Ryan Kent again.

According to Bristol Live, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp felt Bristol City were a better place for Ryan Kent’s development than Leeds United in January, just as new links with the Whites emerge.

Kent, 21, has been in the Liverpool youth ranks since 2003, but he has made just one first-team appearance for the Reds, and has spent most of his time out on loan with other clubs.

After spells with Coventry City and Barnsley, Kent went out to Freiburg last season, but a dismal stint in Germany saw him end up on loan with Bristol City – and he struggled there too, leaving his Anfield future up in the air this summer.

Goal now report that Leeds United and Rangers are keen to sign Kent this summer, with Liverpool insisting on a deal in which clubs are fined if their loan stars aren’t played regularly – something Bristol City were on the receiving end of earlier this year.

Now, Bristol Live report that Leeds wanted Kent in January, but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp felt that Bristol City were a better home for Kent; a decision which was proven wrong as the winger started just six times for the Robins.

Klopp will now have to make a decision about Kent’s future this summer, and there’s a chance that Leeds could be overlooked again despite the possibility of him playing on the right of midfield under new Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa.

Rangers are now managed by ex-Liverpool legend and coach Steven Gerrard, and the Reds have already sent midfielder Ovie Ejaria to Ibrox to continue his development in Scotland.

Klopp may look to give Gerrard another favour by sending Kent to Ibrox, but Leeds appear to be keen again – and will be hoping that they can convince the Liverpool boss to finally send the winger to Elland Road instead of being overlooked again.
