Celtic are reportedly attempting to sign Kilmarnock left-back Greg Taylor, but a deal now looks to be in some doubt.

According to the Daily Record’s live transfer blog (2/9; 15:01), Celtic’s latest bid for Greg Taylor has been rejected by Kilmarnock, with the Hoops offering £2 million for the left-back in a move that would not have involved any players moving to Rugby Park.

Taylor has been linked with Parkhead for some time and it had appeared that a move was edging closer, with Sky Sports reporting that Taylor had undergone a medical with the Scottish Premiership champions and personal terms had been agreed.

However, Sky Sports reported that the deal depended on Jack Hendry and Calvin Miller joining Killie – and it was suggested at the time that those moves had yet to be finalised.

It now appears that the pair have thrown Taylor’s move to Celtic Park in doubt, with the Daily Record reporting on their live transfer blog (2/9; 15:01) that neither Hendry or Miller fancy the move to Angelo Alessio’s side.

The Record adds that Celtic’s subsequent bid of £2 million for Taylor, which involves no players heading in the opposite direction, has been rejected by Killie.

It is interesting that neither Hendry and Miller are keen to make the move. While being at Celtic obviously increases their chances of winning trophies significantly, neither look to be in Neil Lennon’s plans this term.

For Miller in particular, Taylor’s arrival would make any game-time look even less likely, so it will be interesting what the immediate future holds for all three players as the deadline looms.
