Everton striker Cenk Tosun has been linked with a move back to Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt’s move for Everton striker Cenk Tosun is ‘on hold’ because they have to trim their squad first.
The Bundesliga side enjoyed a fine campaign last season, but they’ve almost been victims of their own success having lost their top two strikers.
Luka Jovic has joined Real Madrid, whilst Sebastien Haller completed a move to West Ham United, with Serbian youngster Dejan Joveljic brought in to replace Jovic.
Eintracht are still seeking a replacement for Haller though, and it seems that they’re keen on a Premier League successor for the Frenchman.
Wiesbadener Kurier in Germany reported last week that they want Everton misfit Tosun, who was born near Frankfurt and actually started his career with the club before enjoying success in Turkey.
However, it’s now reported that Frankfurt’s move for Tosun has stalled, as their squad is too big, and they want to trim their numbers before moving for anyone else before the transfer deadline.

Some players are even named as being potential sales, with Marijan Cavar, Nicolai Müller, Marc Stendera and Taleb Tawatha potentially leaving to make room for Tosun.
Given that he’s third-choice at Everton, the Toffees may well hope that Frankfurt can get a move for the 28-year-old over the line, and recoup some of the money they paid to Besiktas just over 18 months ago.
