Villa have been linked with a move to replace Steve Bruce with Shakhtar Donetsk manager Fonseca.

Ukranian outlet Football24 have explained why Aston Villa are unlikely to tempt Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca to move to Villa Park to replace Steve Bruce.
Bruce was sacked earlier this week after failing to beat Preston North End on home soil, with the Midlands outfit drawing 3-3 and Glenn Whelan missing a penalty with the final kick of the game.
Though they were strong contenders for promotion before the start of the season, Villa sit way back in 13th place with only three wins from 11 league games – drawing six and losing two.
Since then, Villa have been linked with a whole host of names. The bookies claim David Moyes, Dean Smith, Mick McCarthy, Thierry Henry and even Sam Allardyce are in the running – as well as Fonseca.
But 45-year-old manager Fonseca, who has previously managed FC Porto among other clubs, is said to be unlikely to join Villa as the report says he is focused on building a legacy at Shakhtar. It says that “throwing it away would be strange”.

Fonseca has been previously linked with a move to England, with Everton reportedly looking to replace Sam Allardyce with the two-time Ukranian champion. Instead, he signed a two-year deal with Shakhtar.
Though he would prove to be a high-profile appointment, Villa may be forced to look elsewhere when it comes to replacing Bruce.
