According to Libertad Digital, Arsenal have been left ‘tremendously angry’ by Atletico Madrid’s treatment of Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners lent the Uruguay international to Diego Simeone’s side over the summer, where he signed a season-long loan deal.
However, the Spanish outfit have only given the ex-Sampdoria man two starts in La Liga, and none in the Champions League.
Arsenal feel Atletico Madrid are purposely damaging Torreira’s value, because an option-to-buy was not implemented in the terms of the loan deal.
Additionally, Libertad Digital dig up the fact Arsenal paid Thomas Partey’s release clause on deadline day without informing Atletico Madrid of their intentions.
There seems to be plenty of bad blood between the two clubs.

Furthermore, Libertad Digital also state that the Gunners didn’t expect another player to arrive to compete with Torreira.
However, this was the case when Simeone signed Geoffrey Kondogbia from Valencia following Partey’s departure.
With his side leading La Liga, Simeone has every right to play who he wants to play.

It may not be what Arsenal supporters want to hear, but Atletico Madrid are blameless in this situation.
If the Gunners wanted Torreira to play a certain amount of games, they should’ve implemented a clause stating that he had to start at least 50% of Atletico Madrid’s games, for example.
From where we stand, we just feel sorry for the Uruguayan, whose career is severely stuttering.
