West Ham United are allegedly on the verge of signing a new striker on loan.
According to a report from the Sun, Argentine striker Jonathan Calleri has been convinced to make the move to West Ham United this summer due to the promise of being part of the club’s new era at the Olympic Stadium and the chance to work with manager Slaven Bilic.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan at Sao Paulo but another temporary spell – this time in London – is reportedly on the verge of completion.
There is no doubt the Hammers could do with additional fire-power going into the new campaign and Calleri offers that in abundance having scored 12 goals in just 17 matches for the Brazilian club this season.
That is a superb return and if he brings his best form to the Premier League he could thrive playing ahead of Dimitri Payet.
The Frenchman was West Ham’s standout player last time out but the pressure will be on him to repeat that and Calleri could offer a fresh, exciting alternative up front.
West Ham are approaching a new era at the club with their move away from Upton Park and players will know they could be on the verge of something great if they join the Bilic revolution.
