Leeds United have completed a season-long loan deal for Manchester City starlet Jack Harrison.

According to a report from the Daily Mail’s live transfer blog (30/07; 11:53), one of the key reasons that Jack Harrison has chosen to join Leeds on loan for the coming season is the relationship that Marcelo Bielsa has with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

The winger has become the Whites’ fourth signing of the summer after it was announced that he has joined the club on a season-long loan deal following a medical on Monday.

The 21-year-old follows Lewis Baker, Jamal Blackman and Barry Douglas through the Elland Road door. The Mail’s report also alludes to the fact that the Championship side are closing in on a deal for Middlesbrough striker Patrick Bamford.

And according to the Mail, Bielsa’s relationship with Guardiola was a key reason why the England under-21 international has chosen to make the switch to Yorkshire.

It will certainly be a boost for Leeds to have Harrison in the ranks. The former New York City FC youngster looks destined for an extremely bright future, and will have a point to prove after struggling for game-time at Boro last season.

And perhaps Bielsa’s apparent desire to use his contacts to get a deal done just highlights just how highly the new Leeds head coach rates the young forward. If that is the case, it could prove to be another incredibly exciting signing for the Whites.
