Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
After The Scottish Sun reported that Celtic pulled out of a deal to sign Portland Timbers midfielder Darlington Nagbe, manager Rodgers was expected to move for a different midfielder – and that has come to fruition.
The Express report that a £2.8million deal to sign Krasnodar midfielder Kouassi Eboue is on the verge of completion, having agreed a fee with the Urssian club, with only personal terms and a work permit left to complete.

19-year-old midfielder Eboue has impressed for Krasnodar this season, notching two assists in six Europa League games, whilst also playing nine league games for the Russian side.
Now, the 6ft 1in midfielder is closing in on a move to Glasgow – and that means the will link up with his fellow Ivorian Kolo Toure, who could be a good mentor for the teenage midfielder given his vast experience.
In fact, The Express claim that Toure has played a part in Eboue’s proposed move to Celtic Park, as he’s ‘spoken in glowing terms’ about the midfielder to the Celtic hierarchy, telling them that he has real potential.
That endorsement will have gone down well with Rodgers, who clearly trusts Toure having signed him for both Liverpool and now Celtic, and his seal of approval appears to have had a major impact on Celtic’s move for Eboue.
