Everton, Arsenal and Manchester United are closely watching Ruben Vinagre and hope to buy the Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back, according to the Express & Star.

However, the newspaper has explained how Wolves remain in the driving seat to sign Vinagre on a permanent basis.

The Portuguese teenager is currently on loan at Molineux from French champions Monaco, and won plaudits during Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup draw against Manchester City.

But it is claimed that under the terms of Wolves’ agreement with Monaco, no club other than the Championship leaders are able to buy Vinagre before the end of his temporary spell, at which point they have an exclusive option to sign him outright.

And the report adds that Wolves are weighing up whether to try their luck in January, as they managed to do successfully with another Monaco loanee Helder Costa last season.

Both Everton and Arsenal are down to just one senior left-back, while Manchester United could offload Luke Shaw in January, according to recent reports.

And the trio will perhaps hope that Vinagre turns down any Wolves advance that may be forthcoming, so they can make a move next summer.
