Glasgow Rangers are reportedly on the verge of bringing Jack Simpson to Ibrox on a season-long loan.

Steven Gerrard is seemingly putting the final pieces of the jigsaw in place after an incredibly productive summer that has seen the number of new signings head into double figures.
Sky Sports reports that Simpson is all set to become signing number 11 with Bournemouth already agreeing to send the 21-year-old to Ibrox for the coming season. However, a deal is yet to be rubber stamped it seems.
According to Sky Sports’ live transfer blog (05/08; 10:53), the Cherries are waiting to learn how serious the injury that Ake sustained during their pre-season clash with Marseille is before they allow Simpson to leave. It must be noted that the report suggests that the problem is not thought to be too bad.

It will be a boost for Rangers to get Simpson in before too long. The Gers have their latest Europa League qualifying tie coming up this coming week and the Scottish Premiership is now up and running so it may start to become apparent just how much depth Gerrard has at his disposal.
Centre-back appears to be a potential concern in regards to depth, so addressing that with a deal for Simpson looks a decent move from the Gers. And while Bournemouth are not quite ready to confirm the youngster’s move to Glasgow yet, it does appear to be incredibly close to being finalised.
