According to Goal, Arsenal chose not to offer a deal to Malang Sarr – and he’s now set to join Chelsea.
It’s claimed that the Gunners were considering a move for Sarr, but eventually chose not to offer him a contract.
Sarr will instead sign a five-year contract with London rivals Chelsea, having seen his Nice deal end earlier this summer.
Chelsea don’t plan to use Sarr next season though, instead aiming to immediately send him out on loan for first-team experience.
Sarr’s medical will take place this week, with Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke among the clubs to have missed out.
Sarr, 21, played more than 100 games for Nice having come up through the ranks of his hometown club, whilst he has also played for France’s Under-21’s.

The defender would have made sense for Arsenal as a left-footed defender to bring balance to Mikel Arteta’s side, especially on a free transfer.
Yet with Gabriel coming in from Lille imminently, Sarr won’t be needed now, and may have simply been a backup target for the Gunners incase they couldn’t land the Brazilian.
